Congratulations to: Taylor Hanes of Hanes Performance Horses on his recent purchase of our awesome stallion ......
"ONE SURE THING"

Taylor has been in negotiations with us for over a year about purchasing "Rave" and after getting to know Taylor, and his program and seeing what he has done with his other stallions that have all overcome injuries..........we decided that this was a "Win Win" situation for all involved!  As you all know, "Rave" was injured over a year ago and that injury

had side-lined his career in the show pen.  Taylor Hanes has proven his knack, determination, and patience with getting horses that have had injuries back into the show ring and continuing on into a successful breeding career!  Taylor has accomplished this with his other great stallions that you may have heard of like "Arts Self Portrait", "It's All About Blue" and "Black Sky Affair".  He hopes to do the same with "One Sure Thing" and we are excited to "watch the future of this great team unfold".  We wish Taylor and his family and of course "Rave" much success in the future and can hardly wait to see the foals that will be arriving this spring!

Don't forget to check back for "One Sure Things" first foal crop photos!!!!  A very special "thank-you" to everyone that bred mares to "Rave" this year, please send photos!!!!!

One Sure Thing is our 17.3 hand Appendix Huntseat Stallion.  He is sired by the great and beautiful "Coats N Tails" a AQHA World and Congress Champion Hunter Under Saddle Horse.  "Coats N Tails" is sired by the legendary "Invitation Only" an AQHA leading sire of Performance horses, his get have earned over 23,893 AQHA points 381 ROM's, 140 Superior Awards and over $1,488,000 in earnings in Western and Huntseat events!

"One Sure Thing's" dam, is named Niesquaw, a 16.2 hand gorgeous Thoroughbred mare that is a super flat kneed and sweepy mover!  With this combination of parents it is no wonder that "One Sure Thing" or "Rave" as we call him, can move both Huntseat and go slow enough for the Western!!!  "Rave" is very slow legged and soft when he is trotting slow (western style) and then can stretch out into that beautiful, classy, flat kneed trot for the Huntseat!  His lope is soft and slow and balanced with a "Natural" head carriage. This stallion is a true "Gentle Giant" with a wonderful disposition that he is sure to pass on to his foals. Because "Rave" was so tall as a youngster we waited until he was three to break him.  At that time he was 17.3 and mature. He was started under saddle and after being green broke was sent to a Professional training facility to start his show career.  Everyone involved with this stallion was very excited about his future show career and his potential as a sire.  After three weeks a call came in that "Rave" was found in his stall that morning with a swollen hock and was unable to stand on it all and was in alot of pain. He was rushed to "Performance Equine Veterinary Hospital", a very high tech and respected veterinary hospital where he was pronounced with a severe and very rare, Hock Infection.  There were no indications as to how this happened,....... but it did.  "Rave" went thru surgery and a lengthy stay at the hospital in the hopes of salvaging his life and career.  We were told that the chances of this kind of thing happening were about like one of us getting hit by lightning walking out your front door.  It was unfortunate, it was depressing and in the long run......it was damaging enough to end the hopes of a future show career.  Heartsick as we were, we do have be thankful that we have him alive, healthy and happy and are looking forward to raising his future show babies!

We hope to meet and build relationships with all who will help in promoting this extraordinary young stallion and his get.  Because "Rave" was not shown he will only be able to be bred to AQHA "blue papered" mares or Appendix mares that have earned their "blue papers" by having 10 or more AQHA points.  "Rave" is tested Homozygous for the Black Gene - he will NOT sire a "red" foal regardless of the color of the mare!

Thank you for inquiring about  "One Sure Thing" and please let us know if you have any questions that we may answer for you.

Thanks again,   Heidi Bailey
